HeART For Hospice art auction a winning bid!

On the night of November 19, the Union Club was filled with 43 pieces of beautiful art, and over 140 collectors with beautiful hearts, ready to bid on their favourite works at the first annual HeART For Hospice benefit art auction.

Paintings, sketches, signed prints, and sculpture by artists ranging from Shushan Egoyan, Phyllis Serota, Jill Louise Campbell and Birgit Piskor were donated to the event by the artists and by private collectors, raising a total of $14,000 in support of Victoria Hospice programs.

According to participants, the energy in the room was “magical”.   Such a wonderful evening wouldn't have been possible without that magic - and that magic was thanks to you.

We are deeply grateful to our generous and enthusiastic attendees, to the artists and collectors who donated their pieces, to Roshan from Kilshaw’s and Daphne from Shaw for doing such a marvelous job, to all the local businesses who donated our wonderful door prizes, and to the fantastic volunteers who helped make the evening run so smoothly and successfully.

And thanks, above all, to the five incredible women - Dr. Lara Tomaszewska, Sylvia Wearne, Shelley Tysick, Carla Tadla, and Virginie Martin (see above photo) -  founders of this moving and beautiful evening.
