The Allegra Singers' "Retro Allegra" Spring Concerts

Event Date:
Friday, May 03, 2019

The Allegra Singers are pleased to present "Retro Allegra", their Spring Concert for 2019!

With two dates, Friday, May 3rd (@ 8:00 pm) or Saturday, May 4th (@ 2:00 pm), concert goers will experience a wonderful blend of popular songs – from jazz to pop, from spiritual to humorous, from vintage to modern. If you’ve never seen the Allegra Singers before... get ready for some great music and entertainment!

You'll enjoy retro favorites from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s!

The Allegra Singers are going to have a musical love-in with songs from that nostalgic time including: "Somebody to Love" by Freddie Mercury as recorded by Queen, "Love Will Keep Us Together" by Neil Sadaka (remember The Captain and Tenille singing it?), "Across the Universe" by The Beatles (perhaps the most prolific songwriters of all time), and "Green Green" (It’s green they say, on the far side of the hill ..) by the Christy Minstrels. And hey, just for fun .. "Mambo Italiano" (recorded by Rosemary Clooney in 1954).

As a non-profit group, the Allegra Singers are dedicated to contributing to other local charities. Every year the choir members choose the recipients of their efforts, and proceeds from the Spring 2019 concerts will go toward supporting Victoria Hospice and compassionate end-of-life care in our community.

Be sure to get your tickets now, as both shows are sure to sell out!
