Executive Director, Hospice Foundation

 

The Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation (the Foundation) is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to raise awareness and garner financial support for the continued economic vitality of Victoria Hospice.

The ideal candidate will lead several formal fundraising programs, activities and donor development in support of Victoria Hospice. The Executive Director will serve as the external face of the Foundation, working collaboratively with superb fundraising and support staff in reaching out to the community.

Reporting to the Foundation’s President and Board of Directors, and working closely with the Victoria Hospice Society Executive Director and management team, the Executive Director will build constructive relationships with the Board and staff, and develop new and innovative partnerships with community members, supporters, colleagues and donors.

The Executive Director requires outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills along with a strong drive to succeed and a passion for excellence. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and strategic thinker who will set clearly defined goals and priorities in order to achieve the strategic objectives defined by the Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate brings a relevant professional designation or university degree together with related experience in a highly competitive fund-raising environment.

Victoria Hospice has been providing physical, emotional and spiritual care to patients and their families in Victoria, British Columbia since 1980. This care, called palliative or comfort care, includes expert physical care as well as counseling, spiritual care and bereavement services. The Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation raises funds to support Victoria Hospice programs and services, and stewards those funds in a professional, responsible way.

Drop by the Victoria Hospice Thrift Boutique and say hello to our staff Cheryl Farquharson, Marjorie Neveu and Marie Ferguson.  Cheryl, Marjorie, Marie and approximately 75 friendly volunteers staff our gorgeous Boutique at 1315 Cook Street near Yates. 100% of all profits from the shop go directly to support end-of-life care at Victoria Hospice. Donations of better-quality women's fashions, accessories, jewelry, household items, collectibles and books may be taken to the shop during store hours, left at Royal Jubilee Hospital's Richmond Pavilion donation boxes near the 4th floor elevators, or picked up at home with our free pick-up service by calling (250) 519-1545.  Thrift Boutique hours are Monday to Saturday, 10am-5pm.
