Counselling & Spiritual Care
Often the emotional pain and stresses associated with advancing illness or death can be as difficult to deal with as physical symptoms. Victoria Hospice offers a wide range of compassionate and helpful counselling services for patients and families facing progressive illness, death and bereavement.
Registered patients and their families can receive support in their homes or on our palliative care unit to assist with emotional, psycological or spiritual issues, as well as practical matters such as financial, funeral and care planning.
For up to a year following a death, a range of bereavement support services are also available, both in individual and group settings, as well as in person or by telephone.
As well, specialized child and youth counselling is available both before and following a death.
